Italian researchers had women take the Female Sexual Function Index, a test used to asses sexual health, and found that moderate red wine drinkers scored consistently higher than teetotalers or those who prefer another alcoholic beverage.
Scientists aren’t exactly sure why this is, but one theory is that the antioxidants in red wine act to widen blood vessels, allowing more blood flow to “key” areas.

Interesting article, not sure if this is exactly true but sure the women who see this will stock up on the red wine.
This is interesting. There does seem to be a scientific, chemical reason for it.
But maybe the phenomenon has something to do with psychology as well. Red is the color of passion, after all. So perhaps those women who prefer red wine are simply more passionate?
